The Kerch police duty station received a statement from a 61-year-old local resident about the disappearance of a submersible water pump. The man reported that the pump was stolen from the market where he was selling equipment for home and garden. The damage caused amounted to more than 50 thousand rubles.
As a result of operational search activities, criminal investigation officers identified and detained a suspect — a 64-year-old local resident who had no previous convictions. The man admitted to the police that he saw a hydraulic pump at one of the city’s markets and decided to take it home for personal use. During a search at the suspect’s place of residence, stolen property was seized by police officers.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
