Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin has ordered that the actions of the people who attacked Russian boxing champion Dmitry Dvali in Feodosia be reclassified as attempted murder. Taking into account the circumstances of the incident and the public resonance, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed the Head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, V. N. Terentyev, to reclassify the actions of the attackers as attempted murder. The progress of the investigation of the criminal case has been placed under control in the central office of the department, — the message says.

Earlier, information appeared on social networks and in the media that Russian and European boxing champion Dmitry Dvali lost eyes, standing up for a boy who was being beaten by a crowd of men in Feodosia. The athlete, along with his brother and a cutman trainer, came to Feodosia for a master class for young boxers. The incident occurred on the embankment when the young people were returning to the hotel after a morning jog. In the fight, Dvali’s eye was knocked out, and his friend was also injured. A criminal case of hooliganism was opened on this fact. Two suspects were detained.
