This year, about 800 Sevastopol families have improved their living conditions at the expense of maternity capital
CrimeaPRESS reports:
This year, about 800 Sevastopol families have improved their living conditions at the expense of maternity capital. Of these, 300 families used maternity capital to purchase housing without attracting loans. According to the statements of such families, the Sevastopol Branch of the Social Fund transferred more than 148.5 million rubles. Another 500 families have paid credits (loans) in banks for a total amount of more than 351.4 million rubles.
Buying a home is one of the most popular areas for using maternity capital in Sevastopol. Families can join a cooperative or take out a loan. It also provides for the possibility of building a house on maternity capital without using credit funds. Sevastopol families can spend money on improving housing conditions when the child who gave the right to the MSC certificate turns three years old. An exception is the repayment of the principal debt or down payment on a mortgage (loan). Funds in this case can be used immediately after the birth or adoption of a child— noted in the press service of the department.
It should be remembered that in order to use maternity capital, housing purchased or built with its funds must be located in Russia. We also recall that repairs are not included in the list of works to improve housing conditions, so it will not work to spend maternity capital on it.
The state support program for families with children has been operating in Sevastopol since 2015 (in Russia as a whole — since 2007). During this time, maternity capital has helped thousands of Sevastopol families with children improve their living conditions.
