In 2025, the list of the 50 best cities in the world according to the authoritative publication Timeout was headed by Cape Town, South Africa. Together with him, two more African cities were included in the rating — Marrakesh (Morocco) and Lagos (Nigeria), which emphasizes the growing attractiveness of the continent for tourists and investors, the newspaper writes Pronedra.ru.
The Timeout rating is based on a survey of more than 18,500 residents of cities around the world. Participants evaluated their cities according to criteria such as the quality of food, nightlife, culture, accessibility, level of happiness and general atmosphere. At the same time, the publication paid special attention not only to tourist attractiveness, but also to convenience for local residents: how safe and comfortable it is to live in the city, whether it is easy to make friends, whether art and nature are accessible.
Cape Town: City of Happiness and Gastronomic Paradise
Cape Town, who took first place in the ranking, amazes with its diversity. The city combines amazing natural landscapes, a rich history and Vibrant cultural scene. An interesting fact: Cape Town is one of the few cities in the world where you can see penguins in the wild, without leaving the city line.
