Three teachers from Sevastopol were awarded the Russian Presidential Prize

Among the laureates from Sevastopol who were awarded the Prize of the President of the Russian Federation are Anna Vasilyeva, a teacher of Russian language and literature at Sevastopol secondary school No. 6, Albina Sviridova, a teacher of Russian language and literature at Sevastopol secondary school No. 3, and Irina Pliskach, a primary school teacher at Sevastopol secondary school No. 20.

The Presidential Prize is 200 thousand rubles. It is reported that in the year of the teacher and mentor, the total number of awards has been increased from 1000 to 1250. Prizes are awarded on Teacher’s Day based on the results of a competition among teachers of educational organizations implementing educational programs of primary general, basic general and secondary general education. The competition is held with the aim of stimulating teachers to improve teaching and educational activities, develop creative and professional potential— reports «Sevastopol newspaper».

The main principles of the competition are publicity, openness, transparency of evaluation procedures and ensuring equal opportunities for teachers to participate in it. Nomination of teachers for the award is made with their written consent by the collegial governing body of the educational organization.

The organizer of the competition for awarding prizes to the best teachers is the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia.
