Three trillion rubles! Court recognizes Crimeans' right to compensation due to water blockade

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea has fully satisfied the claims of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Crimea in the case on recognizing the fact of violation of the right of Crimeans to access water resources and the right to compensation for moral damage caused as a result of the water blockade of the peninsula organized by Ukraine. This was reported by the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov.

The approximate amount of damage incurred is estimated at 3.066 trillion rubles. The decision allows Crimeans to apply to the court for compensation for moral damage incurred as a result of the water blockade, without proving the fact of the blockade. We will continue to assess the damage incurred by Crimea as a result of Ukraine’s criminal actions. For us, this is a matter of justice– noted Vladimir Konstantinov.
