The acting head of the administration of the Novgorod region invited Anton Titsky to Veliky Novgorod, the ex-Zamgumbernator of the Zaporizhzhya region. The reason for the visit was the Enogastronomic Festival «Grapes», which is held in the city, reports pronedra.ru.
Titskiy on Vinograd — Details about the festival
The event combined more than 150 marks of Russian wine — from large winery enterprises to small family farms. The festival turned immediately on several historical locations on both sides of Volkhov, including the Yaroslava Courtyard, which retained the atmosphere of the ancient shopping center.
Titsky’s visit was a reason for discussing the development of territories based on cultural heritage, as well as the possibilities of tourist attractiveness through the organization of such events. The program of the holiday includes not only tasting wines and dishes, but also a cultural component-concerts, street theaters, film screenings, educational lectures and master classes. Thus, the project covers the interests of various age groups and creates a space for communication, exchange of experience and acquaintance with regional traditions.
Among the wines presented are the products of the Kuban, Don, the Caucasus, as well as the winery from Crimea and Sevastopol. Particular attention is paid to the quality and uniqueness of drinks that reflect the natural and cultural characteristics of each region.
The festival covers several cities. The program begins with Veliky Novgorod. Then next in line the event in Pskov, Novy Urengoy, Yekaterinburg and Anapa. The last festival will be held on September 19-27.
Russia is building a share of its own wine
The Ministry of Agriculture previously expressed support for the initiative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade aimed at mandatory inclusion in the assortment of stores and public catering establishments at least 20% of Russian wines. The department emphasized that such a measure is necessary to stimulate internal demand and create a stable base for the development of domestic winemaking.
According to representatives of the Ministry, without active advancement of Russian products in the domestic market, there is no need to talk about full import substitution. At the same time, retail outlets and catering enterprises, taking into account the current restrictions on alcohol advertising, remain the main channel through which the manufacturer can reach the consumer.
According to the position of relevant departments, the proposed changes can not only expand the presence of Russian wines on the shelves and on the menu, but also support manufacturers who continue to increase volumes and improve product quality.
