A monument to Crimean astronomers was unveiled in the village of Nauchny in the Bakhchisaray district. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov, deputies of the Crimean parliament Vasily Rogatin, Natalia Malenko, Olga Vinogradova, the municipal leadership, and local residents.
As Vladimir Konstantinov noted, astronomy and astrophysics have always been complex, incomprehensible concepts that concealed the unknown.
The monument to the Crimean astronomers is a tribute to the people who dedicated their lives to the study of planets and stars, made colossal discoveries, and now in Russian Crimea have serious prospects to continue to engage in science, research and study of celestial bodiessaid the head of the republican parliament.
Vladimir Konstantinov thanked the sculptor, Honored Artist of the Republic of Crimea Fyodor Parshin for his creative work dedicated to people who reveal to us the harmony of the infinite star space, as well as everyone who supported the idea of installing the monument and helped to implement it.
