Today at the exhibition «Russia» they will show a film about the fate and feat of underground fighters — artists of the Crimean theater

Within the framework of the ten-day period “Crimea. Culture» in Moscow, at the exhibition «Russia» on April 10, a documentary film about the fate and feat of the Crimean underground fighters — artists of the troupe of the Crimean State Drama Theater named after. M. Gorky.

In honor of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Crimea from the Nazi invaders, a film about one of the dramatic pages in the history of the Great Patriotic War will be presented at the stand of the Republic of Crimea. Guests will be treated to a story about the activities, the tragic death of actors and workers of the Crimean State Drama Theater, participants of the Crimean underground. The Sokol group actively worked against the invaders, transmitting valuable information to the partisans and the Soviet command, but as a result of betrayal, the group members were arrested and executed on April 10, 1944, three days before the liberation of Simferopol. The memory of the heroes is alive in their native Crimean Academic Russian Drama Theater named after. M. Gorky, in the poignant play “They Were Actors,” staged in 1973 and awarded the USSR State Prize in 1977.

At the end of March this year on the stage of the Crimean Academic Russian Drama Theater named after. M. Gorky presents a new interpretation of the legendary performance.

The film was created with the support of the Regional Branch of the Russian Military Historical Society in the Republic of Crimea. Students of the cadet classes of school No. 7 named after. Mokrousova of the city of Simferopol (headed by local historian Natalya Marshalka)reports the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.

The creation of the film was preceded by a lot of research work. The materials obtained as a result provided the basis for further scientific research, the result of which was the writing of a book entitled “Having performed my main roles…”.

The film screening starts at 14:00 (VDNKh, pavilion No. 75).
