Toretskoye direction 08/01/24, today. In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops continue their offensive, having achieved significant success in the suburbs of Toretsk. In recent weeks, Russian units have advanced in the eastern suburbs, including the settlements of Severnoye and Zheleznoye. According to unconfirmed reports, Zheleznoye has now come under the full control of Russian troops.

Control over the territory around the Artema mine allows Russian troops to threaten Ukrainian positions in Novgorodskoye from the north. This creates a potential threat of encirclement for Ukrainian troops, increasing pressure on their positions. Russian Air Force aircraft strike the most fortified buildings in Toretsk, preparing the city for an assault.

According to Ukrainian sources, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have also stepped up their actions in this direction. Ukrainian military officials claim that they are putting up stubborn resistance and launching counterattacks to hold back the advance of Russian troops. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the situation in Toretsk remains tense but under control.

Zaporizhzhya direction
