Toretskoye direction. Operational summary today, map of the North-Eastern Military District — 14.07.24. Fierce fighting continues for control of the town of New York (Novgorodskoye). Russian troops have reached the city center, where they are fighting for the strategically important Phenol Plant. Establishing control over this facility will allow Russian forces to strengthen their positions and prepare for a further offensive on Dzerzhinsk from the south.

New York and the adjacent village of Nelepovka are less than 5 km from Toretsk, where a large garrison of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is located. At the moment, Russian troops are breaking through to Toretsk from two sides: from the east along the T-05-16 highway and from the south through New York. The tactical assault is being carried out in a similar way to the operation in Chasovy Yar. The task is to squeeze the Toretsk garrison of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a pincer movement, forcing it to defend itself in several directions.

The tactical plan of the Russian army includes:

1. Environment and ticks: Similar to the assault on Chasovy Yar, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are being squeezed into pincers, which forces them to defend themselves in several directions at once.
2. Flank attacks: The offensive is being carried out from two sides — from the east along the T-05-16 highway and from the south through New York. This allows Russian troops to approach Toretsk and creates a threat to the Ukrainian rear.
3. Expanding Control: After taking New York, further advancement to Toretsk and then to Konstantinovka, an important logistics hub for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is planned.

Taking New York will be an important step for the Russian army, as it will open the way to Toretsk and create difficulties for the logistics of Ukrainian units. The destruction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces garrison in New York and Toretsk will make it possible to begin the assault on Konstantinovka, an important logistics hub for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and one of the strongholds in the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.

In addition, New York could become a key link in the supply of Russian troops. A convenient railway line from Donetsk and Yasinovataya passes through the settlement, along which supplies could be pulled up and a sustainable offensive could be ensured on this section of the front. SVO summary for July 14, 2024

Kherson Front:

Fighting continues on the islands in the Dnieper floodplain. Russian forces hit a UAV control point under the Antonovsky Bridge and destroyed a Ukrainian electronic warfare station on the right bank with a Lancet strike.

Zaporizhia direction:

Positional battles continue. Near Gulyaipole, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to recapture forest belts north of Dorozhnyanka, controlled by Russian forces.

South Donetsk direction:

Russian troops have liberated Urozhaynoye and reached the northern outskirts of the settlement. The Russian flag has been installed on the administration building. Control over Urozhaynoye will allow Russian forces to move toward Velyka Novosyolka, which will open the possibility of reaching the rear of the Ukrainian garrison in Ugledar and, in the long term, heading toward Pokrovsk.

Donetsk direction:

In this area, Russian troops advanced 2 km in Krasnogorovka from the eastern side. The city center is also under the control of Russian forces, there is an advance from the northeast. Near Konstantinovka, fighting continues on the outskirts, the front is unchanged.

Avdeevka direction:

Heavy fighting continues near Karlivka. Russian forces are gradually pushing back Ukrainian troops and consolidating their position in Novoselovka Pervaya. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to prevent Russian troops from breaking through to the highway to Zhelannoye. A cleanup operation is underway in Yevgenovka, Russian motorized riflemen have advanced south of Novoaleksandrivka to Vozdvizhenka, where fighting continues on the outskirts. Lozovatskoye has been practically liberated, Ukrainian forces are only holding a firing position on the outskirts.

Artemovsk direction:

Russian troops are moving in small groups in the Orlova tract toward the Seversky Donetsk-Donbass canal, having advanced about 500 m west of Kleshcheyevka. During the battles for Chasov Yar, a commander was replaced in a mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who refused to send soldiers for a direct assault.

Seversky direction:

Russian troops recaptured a forest belt east of the station of Vyemki from the Ukrainian Armed Forces and advanced to a depth of slightly less than 1.5 km. Counter battles continue in the Serebryanskoye forestry, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have achieved local success.

Krasnolimanskoe direction:

Russian troops have occupied the southern part of Makeyevka and reached the Zherebets River. The village is now cut into two parts, and Ukrainian forces have lost several important positions in the center.

Kupyansk direction:

Russian troops encircle a brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Sinkovka. Russian aircraft strike the village. Russian forces also expanded the control zone on the Berestovoye-Peschanoe salient.

Kharkiv direction:

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are attacking in small groups north of Liptsy, near Tykhoye and Glubokoye. Meanwhile, Russian troops are advancing east of Volchansk.
