Tourists are stuck in the Kaimos grotto on the Great Sevastopol Trail
CrimeaPRESS reports:
One of the attractions of the Great Sevastopol Tourist Trail is the Kaimos Grotto, located under the Murkum-ulle ridge. The grotto itself (which served as a crypt in ancient times) is quite long — about 28 meters, but the descent to it is dangerous (loose stones and slippery clay). Let’s just say, not an ideal place for walking in February. As it turned out, not all tourists know about this.
On February 7, at 16:09, the operator on duty at the Sevastopol Rescue Service received a message about tourists who could not get out of the Kaimos Grotto on their own.
The duty shifts of search and rescue units «South» and «North» went to the scene of the incident. Rescuers evacuated the victims from a hard-to-reach place. The work was completed at 18:36— reported the emergency department.
From the State Institution “Sevastopol Rescue Service”, 7 personnel and 2 pieces of equipment were involved in the operation.
