Tourists got lost on Mount Demerdzhi. How the evening rescue operation went
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Rescuers of the Alushta emergency rescue team «KRYM-SPAS» provided assistance to 4 tourists who got lost in the area of the Southern Demerdzhi mountain.
On August 11, at 20:40, the operational department received information that 4 people (including 2 minors) were lost on Mount Yuzhnaya Demerdzhi. They cannot get to the village of Luchistoye on their own: people do not have flashlights and their phones are dead. Due to the onset of darkness, the help of rescuers is needed.– the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea reported.
The staff of the Alushta emergency rescue team «KRYM-SPAS» contacted the tourists and, having established their location, went to the foot of the Southern Demerdzhi mountain.
Having climbed on foot, the rescuers found a group of tourists on Solnechnaya Polyana. They did not need medical assistance. As it turned out, the people miscalculated the time of return from the hike and lost their bearings on the terrain.
The employees of «KRYM-SPAS», having provided the victims with headlamps, evacuated them from the mountainous and forested area to their personal vehicle.
