Tragedy and verdict in Bakhchisarai: the husband installed the boiler incorrectly and his wife was electrocuted
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Bakhchisarai District Court of the Republic of Crimea prosecuted a local resident for causing the death of his wife through negligence; she was electrocuted through the fault of her husband. The court sentenced the man to correctional labor for a period of one and a half years with deduction of 10% from the convict’s salary to the state income.
As it became known during the consideration of the criminal case, a 58-year-old man installed a water heater in his home in violation of the rules for operation and installation of the boiler. In September 2023, the defendant’s wife began to take a shower, holding a shower head in her hand. At that moment, the woman was struck by technical electricity, from which she died on the spot. At the court hearing, the defendant did not admit guilt — The details of the case were announced by the press service of the court.
Despite the denial of involvement, the defendant’s guilt in the charge brought against him was fully proven; the court qualified his actions under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation as causing death by negligence.
The verdict did not enter into legal force.
