Tragedy at a tourist center in the Saksky district — a one-year-old baby died

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol opened a criminal case on the fact of causing death through negligence to a one-year-old child (Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The tragedy occurred in the Saksky District.
The Investigative Department of the city of Saki established that the day before the boy was left without parental supervision in the premises of a tourist base located in the Saki district. Due to the lack of supervision by adults, the child became entangled in the wire of an electric floor fan, which led to his death as a result of suffocation– the Investigative Committee reported.
Investigators and forensic investigators have carried out all necessary initial investigative actions and ordered a number of examinations. The situation in the family of the deceased child will be carefully studied and the educational process will be assessed.
The progress of the investigation is being monitored by the Crimean Prosecutor’s Office.
