Training of Naval Aviation of the Black Sea Fleet. Conditions – close to combat conditions

The Ka-27PS helicopter of the Naval Aviation of the Black Sea Fleet worked out interaction with a patrol ship.

The crew of the Ka-27PS helicopter of the Naval Aviation of the Black Sea Fleet worked on organizing interaction with the crew of a patrol ship performing tasks to patrol the Black Sea and protect civilian ships on intensive commercial shipping routes from threats from Ukraine. The crew of the search and rescue helicopter identified the surface situation and practiced takeoffs and landings on the deck of a ship moving at sea and drifting.

The pilots practiced their skills in performing a missed approach while hovering over the runway. In order to increase the coherence of the actions of the ship’s crew and the helicopter, the flights were carried out both during daylight and dark hours in various weather conditionsreports the press service of the Southern Military District.

It is clarified that in parallel, in order to check the coherence of the operation of all systems of the ship’s aviation complexes, training was carried out for the ship’s crews that support helicopter flights.

In turn, the air defense crews of the patrol ship conducted an exercise to counter air attack weapons, detecting, tracking and practicing a conditional engagement of a low-flying air target.
