Transfer of experience, self-realization, communication with youth: residents of Crimea told what it’s like to be a mentor

Residents of Crimea view mentoring as a responsible and important mission. In an open service survey SuperJob Representatives of the economically active population over 30 years of age with mentoring experience took part.
Mentoring for every second resident of Crimea who has similar experience is, first of all, an opportunity to transfer their knowledge, skills, and best practices to newcomers: “Teach everything, warn against mistakes”; “I share the nuances so that the production process is effective, and the young specialist is confident in his abilities and results.”
For 11% of respondents, the opportunity to provide assistance and support to young people is important. 6% of respondents named mentoring as one of their most important missions. For 5% this is the path to self-development: “My personal growth”; “Good for me too.”
3% of mentors believe that the speed at which newcomers enter the work process primarily depends on their actions. 3% like the opportunity to communicate with young people. For another 3%, mentoring is primarily a way to earn additional income.
For 4%, mentoring is an additional burden. For 5% — headache.
Other associations were named by 6% of respondents: some regard mentoring as a gesture of goodwill, charity, others as a matter of honor, the opportunity to be useful, continuity (“A tribute to the fact that I was once taught by older comrades”).
