Tropics in Crimea: «plus» 30 and showers. Storm warning issued

The Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a storm warning about dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena in Crimea for Saturday and Sunday — July 8 and 9.

In connection with the passage of the cold frontal section on the afternoon of July 8, during the day on July 9, heavy rains are expected in Crimea, in some places very heavy, thunderstorms, hail, squalls of 15-20 m/s. On the rivers of Crimea, short-term rises in water levels by 0.5-1 m are expected without reaching dangerous levels— reported in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea recommends observing the following security measures:

— exclude access to the mountain-forest area;

— refrain from going to the sea and inland waters;

— when on the street, pay attention to the integrity of overhead power lines, contact networks of electric transport and tree branches;

— do not go to the embankments and bank protection structures;

— pay attention to the condition of drainage systems, drainage channels, storm drains, cleaning storm sewers from debris;

— limit your stay in the immediate vicinity of the riverbeds, including those that have dried up;

— we recommend that the population living in the immediate vicinity of water bodies and in areas of dry riverbeds take measures to preserve their property;

— drivers of vehicles, if it is impossible to restrict exit, be extremely careful on the road, do not exceed the speed limit and strictly observe the rules of the road.

In case of bad weather, pay special attention to the safety of children and the elderly, be attentive to others. In case of emergency, call: «112» or «101».
