In Crimea, the Dzhankoy inter-district prosecutor’s office sent a criminal case against a 44-year-old local resident to court. He is accused of violating the rules of the road by a person driving a car, negligently resulting in the death of a person.
In February of this year, the accused, driving a car «MAN 26.414», was moving along the road «border with Ukraine — Simferopol — Alushta — Yalta» near the village. Pridorozhnoye, Dzhankoy district. Unable to maintain a safe distance, he collided with a UAZ 3163 car moving ahead, followed by a drive into the oncoming lane, where a head-on collision with a Nissan Qashqai car occurred, in the cabin of which there were a driver and a passenger. As a result of an accident, the driver of the Nissan Qashqai died at the scene— told the details in the prosecutor’s office.
With approved under Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, negligently resulting in the death of a person”), the criminal case was sent to the Dzhankoysky District Court for consideration on the merits by an indictment. The driver faces up to 5 years in prison.
