Tuk-tuk! You have guests: residents will be obliged to let the gas workers into the apartment

Residents of apartment buildings will be obliged to let out gas workers in the apartment for the repair and maintenance of gas equipment. The bill is approved by the State Duma in the first reading.

In Art. 157 of the Housing Code will be amended. Owners and tenants of housing will have to provide access to the apartment to employees of organizations serving gas networks. Experts will gain access to house or intra -apartment gas equipment and will be able to carry out repairs and maintenance.

In the event of an employee’s unremarking for a dwelling, the organization will be able to go to court. The owner in court will be obliged to provide access to gas equipment.

If gas workers cannot get into at least one apartment in a residential building, this threatens the safety of all residents, it is said by an explanatory note to the bill.

Recall that in 2023 a law was adopted, fixing a gas service company for every gasified house. Residents of such houses must conclude contracts for maintenance and repair of gas equipment with an organization that works with their management company.
