Turnstiles for passage to boarding boats began operating in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Sevastopol, work continues to improve the city’s transport infrastructure. So, at the boat pier on the Grafskaya pier, turnstiles for boarding passage began to operate. They were installed by the operator of the automated fare accounting system «EGKS» and the enterprise «Sevelektroavtotrans im. A. S. Krupoderova.”
There were many requests from Sevastopol residents regarding queues for boats, so I instructed the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development to think through a solution to this issue. As a result, it was decided that turnstiles would be installed that, on the one hand, would speed up the process of boarding boats, and on the other, would prevent unauthorized access to the berths. It is clear that we still need to do a lot: update both the boats themselves and the berth infrastructure. This is costly and time consuming. But my position is to proceed from the possibilities that exist now. Turnstiles, of course, are not a solution to all problems, but thanks to them, passengers will already feel more comfortable,” the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.
When installing the turnstiles, we also provided a separate entrance for people with limited mobility, passengers with bicycles, strollers and luggage.
By June 1, we prepared a project, manufactured a modular structure, installed turnstiles, and launched it on the Grafskaya pier, on Zakharov Square and in Artbukhta. The berths at Radiogorka and Artbukhta are currently under repair, and as soon as they are ready, we will install turnstile systems there too. Currently, 12 turnstiles have been installed: 5 on the Grafskaya pier, 5 on Zakharov and 2 in Arbukhta. Capacity – up to 15 people per turnstile per minute. This is enough to board a boat that can accommodate 250 people.,” said Vasily Repin, Deputy General Director of the “Unified City Map of Sevastopol” company.
