TVIL: the number of early bookings in Russia for the summer has increased
CrimeaPRESS reports:
From January to March 2024, Russians are more actively booking apartments and hotels for summer holidays in Russia compared to last year. This is due to the fact that now you can book a vacation at seaside resorts with discounts of up to 25%. The noticeable increase in early sales is also explained by the fact that last year most hotels in the South set prices for the summer only in April.
According to the booking service TVIL, the increase in bookings for the summer was 22% compared to last year. Tourists decide to book a summer holiday six months in advance and choose rooms in already familiar places.
The top ten most popular destinations among travelers traditionally include the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, Abkhazia, as well as St. Petersburg and Moscow. According to TVIL, the average check for early booking this year was 32,734 rubles: last year the amount was 5% less — 31,295 rubles. Experts observe the highest growth rates in Moscow (+78%), Yalta (+38%), Alushta (+32%), Anapa (+29%) and St. Petersburg (+26%).
The online booking service TVIL also notes a significant increase in bookings to foreign destinations. The three most popular countries for summer travel are Abkhazia, Belarus and Georgia. Demand in Georgia especially increased — five times, in Belarus — two times.
We observe that the greatest demand for summer holidays is for properties with developed infrastructure and entertainment. Now 60% of bookings come to hotels with three to five stars,” the TVIL press service emphasized.
Experts also note stable demand for apartments for summer holidays: an increase of more than 2% compared to last year. For summer travel this year, tourists are booking apartments in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Sochi, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Kislovodsk, Yalta, Nizhny Novgorod, Gelendzhik and Vladivostok.
