Twelve schools to be built in Crimea in the next three years

CrimeaPRESS reports:

This year, 18.5 million schoolchildren sat down at their desks in Russia, including 2 million first-graders. In Crimea, 230,000 schoolchildren, including 23,000 first-graders, started classes. Such figures were given by the Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Youth Policy of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Dodonov, talking about the beginning of the new academic year.

The parliamentarian said that over the past five years, more than 900 schools have been built in Russia, in which 540,000 new places for schoolchildren have been created. Since 2022, 2,500 schools have been repaired under the Modernization of School Education Systems program, and more than 2,000 schools are planned for 2024-2025.

A new school in the village of Tryokhprudny began its work in Crimea, new buildings were built in the Kirov school No. 1, 11 schools were repaired— said Sergey Dodonov. — 8 more are planned for major repairs next year. 30 applications have been submitted to the Ministry of Education of Russia for additional funding for the major repairs of schools: 26 in 2024, four in 2025. As part of various programs, the construction of 12 new schools is planned over the next three years.

As Sergei Dodonov explained, this year 3,000 «points of growth» in digital, humanitarian, technical and natural science areas, 480 «quantoriums» and 63 «IT cubes» were opened in Russia. 50 “growth points”, one “quantorium” and one “IT-cube” were opened in Crimea, as well as the regional center “Impulse” based on the gymnasium for gifted children in the areas of “art”, “sport” and “science”.

The head of the Committee on Education, Science and Youth Policy paid special attention to the innovations of the current year in the educational process:

  1. Unified federal educational programs have been created with general requirements for the volume and quality of knowledge in all regions. The updated standard is introduced for grades 1-7, 10. The school will switch to the new programs in 2024.
  2. The state information system «My School» has been introduced. Parents need to register with this system to receive feedback on the content of their child’s education and progress. This system is integrated with the State Services (“My Education” tab) and provides access to methodological and educational materials, displays student attendance and progress.
  3. A professional minimum has been introduced — initial pre-professional training from grades 6 to 11. Classes «Russia — my horizons» will be held weekly on Thursdays. It is also envisaged, in cooperation with enterprises, to conduct excursions and get acquainted with professions in real conditions, and, in cooperation with colleges and universities, to receive documents on education in working specialties. This is actually an improved version of the UPC (training and production complexes) that previously existed at schools. In this direction, our universities are very successful in specialized medical, agricultural, engineering, psychological and pedagogical classes.
  4. It is allowed to involve schoolchildren in socially useful work (cleaning the school grounds, cleaning the classroom, landscaping the school grounds). Labor education will return respect for work, awareness of its value. Involvement in social work is carried out without the consent of the parents.
  5. A block of initial military training for grades 5-9 is introduced in the structure of the subject «Fundamentals of Life Safety». It provides for the study of drill and fire training, the provision of first aid, the basics of state defense and military professional activity.
  6. The “silver” medal has been returned (two fours are allowed in the certificate), which will provide an additional at least three points in the entrance examinations (higher education institutions can determine more on their own in the admission rules).

The network of educational organizations of the Republic of Crimea is: 418 kindergartens; 541 schools (plus one school at Artek ICC); 98 schools study in two shifts; 36 professional educational organizations, 6 educational organizations of higher education; 175 organizations of additional education.
