Two Crimean libraries became winners of the competition to participate in the “Genius Loci” project

The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, Tatyana Manezhina, announced that two Crimean libraries became winners of the competitive selection of the “Genius Loci” project.
Since 2024, the Central District Model Library in the town of Lenino and the Central City Library named after. A. Green in Feodosia. Creative laboratories “Genius loci” are libraries with a comfortable space that provide access to modern resources, where everyone can undergo training, demonstrate their abilities, and receive assistance in implementing their initiatives in the field of culture and the arts– the minister’s press service quotes.
It should be noted that Feodosia Library submitted to the competition a project to create a media space “Aloud!” to solve pressing issues of developing the city’s recreational and tourism potential through the introduction of high-quality media content, and Lenin Library plans to create at its base a creative community of readers who are passionate about journalism.
According to Tatyana Manezhina, in the Republic of Crimea the representative of the regional office of the “Genius of the Place” project is the Crimean Republican Library for Youth.
Let us remind you that since 2021, a participant in the “Genius of Loci” project has been Central Children’s Library named after Volodya Dubinin city of Kerch (the institution conducts training programs in popular creative areas). In 2023, over 40 events were held in the Kerch library, which were attended by more than 20 thousand people.
REFERENCE. Thanks to the “Invented in Russia” initiative, starting from 2021, a system for supporting and developing creative industries and the talents of the country’s citizens is being formed. In accordance with the federal project, they are created and operating inclusive creative labssites «Genius loci».
