Two Crimean nature reserves are closed to visitors

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Opuksky and Kazantipsky nature reserves in the Republic of Crimea were closed to tourists until the end of March due to high anthropogenic pressure, reports the Telegram channel Directorate of Specially Protected Natural Areas «Reserved Crimea».

From October 28, 2024 to March 31, 2025 in order to reduce the anthropogenic load on the natural complexes of state natural reserves of the State Natural Reserve [государственный природный заповедник] «Opuksky» and the gas processing plant «Kazantipsky» are closed for excursion visitsthe message says.

The directorate clarified that the closure period may be extended.

“Reserved Crimea” unites four state nature reserves — “Yalta Mountain-Forest”, the total length of tourist trails in which reaches 147 km, “Kazantipsky”, “Opuksky”, “Swan Islands” and three state natural reserves of federal significance “Karkinitsky”, “Small phyllophoric field” and “Kazantip sea”.
