Two local residents suspected of illegal circulation of ammunition were detained in Kerch

The detainee explained to the police that last summer he purchased cartridges from a neighbor and kept them at his place for use during hunting. As a result of the preliminary investigation, it was established that the neighbor of the detainee is a 33-year-old local resident who is currently in custody for the theft of the medal of the veteran. The man explained that he had found cartridges in a landfill and decided to sell them to a neighbor. The police found that the detainees had no licenses for storage and sale of ammunition. The Department of Inquiry of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kerch against a 45-year-old man has been instituted a criminal case on the grounds of the corpus delicti under Part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition, transfer, storage, transportation, shipping or wearing firearms, its main parts and ammunition for it). The sanction of the article provides for the maximum punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to five years,-the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Crimea said.

In relation to the second defendant, the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Kerch opened a criminal case on the grounds of the corpus delicti under Part 2 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code. The sanction of the article provides for a punishment of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
