Two railway tragedies in Crimea

Two tragic cases of injury occurred on the railway in the regional center of Krasnogvardeyskoye of the Republic of Crimea:
- Yesterday at 19:20 the duty unit of the Crimean Line Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for transport received a message from the duty officer at the Urozhaynaya station that a 73-year-old resident of the Krasnogvardeisky district was injured by passenger train No. 316 «Simferopol — Adler». An investigative and operational team of the linear police department at the Dzhankoy station was sent to the scene of the emergency, which established that an elderly woman was crossing the railway tracks in an unspecified place. The victim was sent by ambulance to the nearest hospital. She died from her injuries in the intensive care unit.
- Today at 11:30 the duty station of the linear police department at the Dzhankoy station received a message from the duty officer at the Urozhaynaya station that a man was fatally injured on passenger train No. 27/28 “Moscow — Simferopol”. An investigative team was sent to the scene of the incident and found that the man was walking along the railway track and did not respond to warning sound signals. The driver applied the emergency brake, but a collision could not be avoided. 50-year-old resident of the town. Krasnogvardeiskoye died on the spot.
Based on the results of checking both tragic cases, the investigative authorities will make a procedural decision.
Transport police remind residents and guests of the Republic of Crimea about personal safety measures at transport infrastructure facilities. Use only designated railroad crossings. Do not run across the tracks in front of a moving train. Do not walk under carriages. Do not climb onto the carriages, as the overhead contact line has a voltage of 27,000 volts. Do not use headphones to listen to music while driving along or across railroad tracks. Do not allow children to play near railroad facilities.
