Two residents of Sevastopol will stand trial for a group murder committed more than 10 years ago
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A criminal investigation has been completed against two residents of Sevastopol accused of committing the murder of a 25-year-old resident of the Nakhimovsky district in 2013 by a group of people for hooligan reasons (clauses “g”, “i”, part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
An investigator from the Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases established that in April 2013, two residents of the village of Verkhnesadovoye met a fellow villager in a cafe, with whom they continued to drink alcohol. During the quarrel, the defendants beat up an acquaintance, after which one of them, with the assistance of an accomplice, shot the victim in the temple with a revolver. The accomplices left the victim on the street, returned to the cafe, where they continued to relax, and about the incident they told law enforcement agencies a false version about the young man’s allegedly careless handling of a weapon. A few days later, the victim, without regaining consciousness, died in the hospital from his injuries.— reported the Investigative Committee.
For a long time, the crime, committed in conditions of non-obviousness, remained unsolved.
Based on the results of systematic work to uncover crimes of past years, carried out by investigators and forensic investigators in collaboration with operational officers of the criminal investigation department, in April of this year the involvement of two residents of Sevastopol in the commission of a particularly serious act was established. At the request of the investigator, the court chose the interdiction measure in the form of detention.
The guilt of the defendants was confirmed, among other things, during a complex forensic ballistic examination, the results of which revealed circumstances previously unknown to the investigation.,” noted the Sledkom.
The criminal investigation has now been completed. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for study, signing of the indictment and further sending the case to court.
