Two residents of Simferopol were thoroughly preparing to “take the cash register.” What came of it

The Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Simferopol issued a verdict in a criminal case against two local residents. Based on the evidence presented by the prosecutor’s office, they were found guilty of committing crimes under paragraph “a” of Part 3 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal storage of ammunition), Part 1 of Art. 325.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (wrongful possession of the state registration plate of a vehicle), Part 1 of Art. 30 p. “b” part 4 art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (preparation for robbery), part 1 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle by a person in a state of intoxication subject to administrative punishment for driving a vehicle while intoxicated).

The court established that in March of this year the defendants were preparing to commit a robbery against employees of the collection service of one of the bank branches. To this end, they repeatedly observed the work of the cash-in-transit service at the scene of the impending crime, and practiced firing shots from an earlier acquired machine gun of the AKS-74U model and ammunition for it. In addition, one of the men stole registration plates from a car for transport secrecy during the commission of a crime.— said the prosecutor’s office.

The criminal plan failed due to the robbers’ own carelessness and the vigilance of the traffic police inspector.

At the end of March 2023, in a rented car driven by one of the accomplices, who was intoxicated, traffic police officers discovered and seized purchased weapons and ammunition. The police also seized gloves, masks and a change of clothing from the car for the attackers.

The preliminary investigation of the criminal case was carried out by the crime investigation department in the territory served by police department No. 1 “Zheleznodorozhny Investigative Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Simferopol”noted the prosecutor’s office.

The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the men to 6 years 10 months and 6 years 4 months of imprisonment to be served in a maximum security correctional colony. In addition, an accomplice who drove a car while intoxicated is deprived of the right to drive all types of vehicles for 1 year 11 months.
