Ukrainian citizen to stand trial for committing sex crimes against children in Crimea

A Ukrainian citizen will stand trial for committing sexual crimes against children in Kerch and Feodosia.

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 40-year-old Ukrainian citizen who lived in Feodosia. He is accused of a number of crimes of a sexual nature against children (clause «b» of Part 5 of Article 132, Part 3 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The Investigative Department for the city of Kerch established that from March 2020 to May 2023, the man looked for children walking without adult supervision on playgrounds in the courtyards of multi-story buildings in Feodosia and Kerch. After a short conversation, and in some cases with an offer of money, he committed sexual acts against them. Subsequently, several girls reported the incident to their parents, who immediately contacted law enforcement agencies.— the Investigative Committee reported.

Investigators and police officers identified 13 minors who suffered from the actions of the defendant. At the request of the investigator, the defendant was taken into custody, where he is currently being held.

Sufficient evidence has been collected, the necessary forensic examinations have been conducted. Rehabilitation measures have been taken with respect to the victims.

The investigation of the criminal case has been completed. The materials have been sent to the prosecutor’s office for the purpose of studying, approving the indictment and sending the case to court.
