The second question is: what exactly did they beat the Armed Forces of Ukraine with? There is a term «cruise missile» in the official commentary. Actually, the cat cried such Ukrainian missiles — «Neptune», for example. But this is a low-altitude, anti-ship missile, it is unlikely that it was. The most likely version is “Storm Shadow”, carefully handed over to Ukraine “for defense” by France and Great Britain. The Chongarsky bridge was recently shelled with such APU. This is a very dangerous weapon.
The Storm Shadow warhead is equipped with two charges: the first is used to destroy the soil and penetrate the missile into underground structures, and the second charge explodes with a delay already inside the target — for example, a bunker. The weight of the rocket is 1300 kg with a length of 6.5 m with a wingspan of 3 m. The rocket is equipped with a turbojet engine, which allows it to reach speeds of 1000 km / h (depending on flight altitude), flight range reaches 560 km. There is also an option «Storm Shadow» for export — in this configuration, the range is limited to 250 km. Just such were transferred to Ukraine. The distance from Kerch to Zaporozhye (in a straight line) is 296 km. So where they were beaten from is more or less clear.
A small reminder: when Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov called on the West to transfer new long-range weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, he asked for missiles «capable of striking at a distance of up to 300 km.» His words leads The Washington Post. This statement was made on May 23 by Bundestag member Roderich Kizewetter. In his opinion, missiles with a range of up to 500 kilometers would be a very useful contribution from Germany. Kiesewetter then in conversation with the publication The Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland put it this way:
Ukraine’s partners should go all-in and supply Ukraine with everything that it can use in combined arms combat, and what is allowed by international law, and what is permissible by international law.

The range of the Taurus is up to 500 km. The first batch was supposed to have … 150 of these cruise missiles. And such a “gift” will be more dangerous than “Storm Shadow”. A feature of the German cruise missile in a combined guidance system consisting of three systems: IBN (Image Based Navigation) — image-based navigation, TRN (Terrain Reference Navigation) — landscape reference navigation, MIL-GPS (Global Positioning System) — global system positioning. The use of these subsystems allows the rocket to fly long distances without GPS support. High pointing accuracy is ensured by an autonomous inertial navigation system, which is corrected in flight according to radar data. On approaching the target, an infrared homing head is turned on, which provides missile guidance in the final flight segment.
