In Crimea, the republican prosecutor’s office approved an indictment in a criminal case against a citizen of Ukraine. This saboteur was caught in October last year. According to the investigation, the accused, while on the territory of Ukraine, joined a specialized unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, within which he received special training to carry out terrorist activities.
In October last year, the accused, together with other members of the group, the criminal case against whom was separated into separate proceedings, in order to commit a terrorist attack, carrying weapons and ammunition, illegally crossed the State Border of the Russian Federation on jet skis and boats and moved in the direction of the Black Sea region. The illegal actions of the accused and other persons were stopped by officers of the Border Department of the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Crimea— reported the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case was carried out by the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
The Ukrainian “warrior” is accused under Part 3 of Art. 30, paragraph “a”, part 2, art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempt to commit a terrorist act), Art. 205.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities), Part 3 of Art. 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of firearms and ammunition), part 4 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal storage, transportation and carrying of firearms and ammunition), Part 3 of Art. 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal crossing of the State border of the Russian Federation).
With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to the Southern District Military Court for consideration on the merits.
