The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov invited UNESCO representatives to come to Crimea and admire what Tauric Chersonesos has become. In this way, he responded to the attempts of the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture to get Tauric Chersonesos included in the UNESCO list of sites under threat of destruction.

Since 2014, the UNESCO Secretariat has not maintained contact with the administrations of the World Heritage sites in Crimea. Information on their monitoring in UNESCO is prepared based on materials prepared in Kyiv.
Access to the new historical and archaeological park «Chersonesos Taurica» in Sevastopol — New Chersonesos opened on August 30 for everyone. It is located on the territory outside the walls of the ancient settlement. Before construction, large-scale archaeological excavations were carried out there.
The ancient city of Tauric Chersonesos and its chora were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List on June 23, 2013.
