The all-Russian charity event “Box of Courage” is aimed at supporting children undergoing long-term treatment or complex medical procedures in healthcare institutions and hospices. Children will be able to choose from the “Box of Courage” toys, art kits, construction sets, books, coloring books and other gifts.
The start of the annual All-Russian action was given by the Moscow city branch of United Russia. Together with the Chairman of the Central Council of Supporters Olga Zanko, the Chairman of the Council of United Russia Supporters of the city of Moscow Vera Stepanenko and State Duma Deputy Svetlana Razvorotneva, MGRO activists brought gifts for young patients to the National Medical Research Center of Oncology named after. N.N. Blokhina. They were gathered by deputies, members of the Women’s Movement of United Russia in Moscow and residents of the capital.
Being treated in a hospital for a long time and enduring all the painful procedures is not easy for adults, but for children it is a real feat. The guys need to be supported and rewarded with gifts. To this end, United Russia supporters have been holding the “Box of Courage” campaign for several years now. Last year, more than 45 thousand people across the country took part in the event, more than 150 thousand gifts were collected– the press service of United Russia quotes Olga Zanko.
On the day the campaign started, boxes for collecting toys were installed throughout the country in the regional executive committees of the party.
In Sevastopol, the chairman of the regional Council of United Russia supporters, Pavel Kharlamov, donated the toys collected as part of the action to the Center for Maternal and Child Health and to the children’s clinic of City Hospital No. 9 in Balaklava.
After undergoing a painful procedure, children choose any toy they like as a gift. The action found a response not only among children and parents, but also among doctors. Now we carry it out on an ongoing basis. Air raids have become more frequent in the Hero City. In this regard, activists and supporters of United Russia are donating toys for play areas in the underground shelters of children’s hospitals. Young patients who are being treated in a hospital and children who visit clinics go there. The name of the action “Box of Courage” turned out to be symbolic in this casenotes Pavel Kharlamov.
Sevastopol party members decided to extend the action not only to young residents of the city, but also to children from new regions of the country. This year, “Boxes of Courage” were donated from Sevastopol residents to the village of Ivanovka in the Kherson region and to the sponsored Melitopol region.
The Sevastopol regional branch of United Russia continues the action. In the LPR, residents will fill “Boxes of Courage” for the second year in a row. One of the first gifts for children was brought by the secretary of the Lugansk regional branch of United Russia Denis Miroshnichenko and State Duma deputy Viktor Vodolatsky.
“Boxes of Courage” were installed in St. Petersburg, Bashkortostan and the Sverdlovsk region.
In the Northern capital, the toys were handed over to the box located in the regional executive committee of the party by the speaker of the legislative assembly Alexander Belsky, the head of the regional executive committee Valery Garnets, and the chairman of the regional Council of Supporters Pavel Rybchak.
In Ufa, the head of the regional Council of Supporters, Yakov Kugubaev, and the head of the State Committee for Housing Supervision, member of the regional Council of Supporters, Artur Davletshin, placed toys in the box at the State Committee of the Republic for Housing and Construction Supervision.
In Yekaterinburg, the “Box of Courage” appeared at the public support headquarters. Soft toys and stationery were brought by the head of the regional Council of Supporters, Sergei Karyakin and other activists.
The toy collection will last until December 1st. All gifts will be donated to children’s medical institutions.
Let us remind you that United Russia has been holding the “Box of Courage” campaign for more than 10 years. Party supporters install special boxes in shopping centers and partner organizations where anyone can put toys for children. Gifts can also be brought to local and regional branches, public support headquarters of United Russia. According to sanitary requirements, only new toys in packaging should be transferred.
