«University Shifts» have started at KFU

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The «University Shifts» have started at the Crimean Federal University. The educational and tourist program is taking place in the city of Yevpatoriya at the children’s health camp named after Yuri Gagarin. The first shift consists of 91 participants and will last until July 25.

According to the organizers, the goal of the program is to promote education, personal development, self-determination and socialization of students in educational institutions.

This project is being implemented at the intersection of education, tourism and enlightenment. The Crimean Federal University organizes the arrival of children from new territories to Crimea for health improvement and development. The program of our intensive course is very interesting and intense. The training was prepared by the faculty of our university. Participants of the shift will get acquainted with the history and culture of Crimea and the Russian Federation, will be able to self-identify and socialize, choose their future profession, – said Natalia Karmazina, Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Activities at KFU.

In total, this year about 200 children from the Kherson region aged 14 to 17 will take part in two shifts. As part of the educational program, they will get acquainted with the priority areas of training at the university and attend excursions. Also, the days of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth will be held to pump up their cross-professional skills.

The cultural and educational block of the program provides for introducing students to traditional Russian spiritual and moral values, immersion in the history of the peoples of Russia, and fostering a sense of belonging to common roots.

The mission of our camp is to unite many children from different regions. It is very important for us to create comfortable conditions for the development of each child, to fill their vacation with vivid impressions and interesting acquaintances. We really want the children to be charged with energy from this shift and to receive maximum knowledge at educational lectures— said the head of the children’s health camp named after Yuri Gagarin, Larisa Grebenyuk.

On the first day, the participants got to know each other and simultaneously learned about the mission, values, and areas of work of the «Movement of the First». In addition, veterans of the special military operation — participants in the joint project of the «Defenders of the Fatherland» Foundation and the Russian Society «Knowledge» — spoke to the participants of the shift. The heroes of the SVO told about the history and culture of Russia, and also discussed with the children the possibilities for professional self-determination.

The University Shifts program is implemented by the Crimean Federal University together with the Russian Children and Youth Movement “Movement of the First” and the regional branch of the Russian Society “Knowledge” of the Republic of Crimea.
