Unlabeled tobacco products worth one and a half million rubles were seized from illicit trafficking in Crimea

Since the beginning of the year, on the domestic market, Crimean customs has identified 11.3 thousand packs of cigarettes that did not have excise stamps and the mandatory labeling of tobacco products provided for by current legislation. Of these, more than 800 packs are foreign-made cigarettes, 10.5 thousand packs are cigarettes produced by EAEU member states, as well as 13.5 kilograms of foreign hookah tobacco. The market value of the seized unmarked products amounted to more than 1.5 million rubles.
Tobacco products were discovered during customs inspections of the premises and territories of retail outlets of individual entrepreneurs engaged in retail and wholesale trade in tobacco products in the Republic of Crimea— the press service of the Crimean customs clarifies.
All illegally imported tobacco products have been withdrawn from trade. 6 cases of administrative offenses have been initiated against individual entrepreneurs.
