Since October 2023, the “mice” have reached the finals of four major Counter-Strike tournaments, and they won two of them. Before this, MOUZ won for the last time in May 2021 at Flashpoint 3.

Academic bet
The MOUZ (formerly mousesports) tag has been known to many eSports fans since Counter-Strike 1.6. The legendary lineup with chrisj, denis, oscar made noise on the pro scene in 2017-2018, winning trophies. But with the onset of the pandemic, everything collapsed. The team rarely took first place and constantly experimented with the roster.
The “mice” needed to change something. They started with the youth team. They recruited promising shooters, and trophies from tournaments for academic girls fell into their hands. Out of five competitions, MOUZ NXT won four.
The bosses of the organization saw the success of the academician and began to gradually attract young people to the core. Torzsi was the first to be transferred, in January 2022. Six months later xertioN arrived. In mid-2023, the lineup was completed by siuhy and Jimphat. And the average age of the team did not exceed 21 years.
The bet on young people worked immediately. Already in October of the same year, the Mauz won the last major tournament in CS:GO — ESL Pro League Season 18. However, before it began, they were not even in the top 10 contenders. Betting companies gave quotes for their gold from 20.00. For comparison: the odds for favorites Team Vitality, G2 and HEROIC started at 4.80.
MOUZ were able to consolidate their success at Chinese competitions. They reached the finals at both the CS2 Asia Championships and IEM Chendgu, but lost to FaZe Clan everywhere.
The renewed Europeans won their second trophy again at the ESL Pro League — in the 19th season. Before its start, bookmakers singled them out as favorites and offered odds of 3.50 or more for first place. Team Vitality (from 3.20) and FaZe Clan (from 2.80) had higher chances.
Chances for future tournaments
Many stacks are unstable. They can either win two major tournaments or fail three smaller ones between them. For example, in 2023 this happened with «samurai» from G2.
But this is unlikely to happen to MOUZ. In the situation with G2, the team was carried by a couple of players. When they were in shape, the organization won. If they lost it, then the team finished the tournament in last place. For mice, on the contrary, all players perform at approximately the same level. If someone fails, someone else covers.
Nevertheless, bookmakers are in no hurry to make them clear favorites for the upcoming competitions. For example, at IEM Dallas, the victory of “Mauz” is quoted from 7.00. Below are the odds for Natus Vincere (from 6.50), Team Vitality (4.50), Team Spirit and FaZe Clan (both teams start from 3.50).
