Vacationer rescued in Alushta. Managed to swim to buoys, but no way back
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A routine preventive raid by the diving service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Kalmykia in Alushta proved to be a lifesaver for a swimmer.
Rescuers noticed the tourist signaling for help. The Khabarovsk resident was 600 m from the shore, holding on to a sea buoy with all his might. With the help of a lifebuoy, the man was lifted onto a boat and taken to shore.
I haven’t swum in a long time, I thought I’d warm up. I swam away from the shore, but I misjudged my strength on the way back– the vacationer said.
The tourist thanked the rescuers and promised not to swim that far again.
