VAZ as a weapon of crime. Why was the Crimean’s car taken away?
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A 39-year-old Crimean man’s car was confiscated for driving while intoxicated. The man was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle by a person in a state of intoxication who was previously brought to administrative responsibility for a similar act).
The court found that the man, having been brought to administrative responsibility for driving a vehicle while intoxicated, began driving a VAZ 21102 car in April of this year after drinking alcohol. Driving along the Tavrida — Dzhankoy — Krasnoperekopsk highway, the attacker was stopped by officials highway patrol service— reported the prosecutor’s office.
The Dzhankoy court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to 380 hours of compulsory labor with deprivation of the right to drive all types of vehicles for a period of 2 years 10 months. The VAZ 21102 car, which belonged to the convicted person, was confiscated to the state.
