at the Evpatoria Theatre. A.S. Pushkin of the Crimean State Philharmonic held the opening ceremony of the VI Festival of Children’s and Family Films «Sunny Island».
The creative project, which has become a highlight in the world of children’s and family cinema, is being implemented under the patronage of the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea and the administration of Evpatoria. The organizers of the festival are the Crimean Film and Media Center, Crimean State Philharmonic and Production Company of Anatoly Voropaev (Moscow). The President of the Festival is Dmitry Kharatyan, People’s Artist of Russia, Honorary Citizen of Evpatoria. At the opening ceremony of the festival, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Crimea Tatyana Manezhina addressed the organizers and participants with a welcoming speech on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, the Government of Crimea, noting the importance of a significant cultural project, its special role in popularizing traditional family values and patriotic education of the younger generation— noted in the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.
Also, the deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Galina Gerasimova, the head of the municipality — the chairman of the Evpatoria City Council Emilia Leonova and the head of the administration of Evpatoria Elena Demidova also welcomed.
Artists of the Crimean State Philharmonic Anna Us, Ekaterina Grinevich and Valentina Akulova, the exemplary vocal ensemble «City of Childhood», the dance studio «Capital» and the exemplary dance school-studio «Tais» graced the opening ceremony with their musical performances.
The extensive festival program includes a variety of film events: screenings of competitive and out-of-competition films, creative meetings and master classes. Cinemas in Yevpatoriya «Rocket» and «Kino Maximum», children’s sanatoriums and health camps, where wonderful children’s animation and feature films will be shown from August 30 to September 1, will become film sites.
This year, the Festival Directorate announced a competition for the best video review of any competition film. The author of the best review will be invited to the closing ceremony of the festival and a small surprise. You can send the video by email otzyvyzritelei@yandex.ru.

REFERENCE. The open festival of children’s and family cinema «Sunny Island» is held annually with the support of the Government of the Republic of Crimea.
The organizers of the festival are the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Crimean Cinema and Media Center» (Simferopol), the production company of Anatoly Voropaev (Moscow).
The festival is aimed at educating the younger generation of high moral culture, spirituality and patriotism, popularizing cinematography, familiarizing children and teenagers with the cultural heritage of the country, in particular, the best works of national film classics and modern films.
