Visitors to Ai-Petri are advised to be careful — snow has fallen in the mountains

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The first snow in the Republic of Crimea fell in the mountains in the territory of the specially protected natural areas “Reserved Crimea”. Due to low temperatures, the Ai-Petri plateau can be slippery; visitors should be careful, they said TASS in the press service of the “Reserved Crimea” directorate.

The snowfall began in the morning, the snow is not yet dense and melts quickly. Accompanied by quite strong winds. As long as there is no dense snow cover, the danger does not particularly increase. Unless on Ai-Petri, where temperatures are low, it can be slippery— said the press service.

The period of the first snowfall in Crimea is difficult to predict: it can happen from the end of October to December.

Earlier, the regional hydrometeorological center reported very heavy rains in the morning and afternoon of October 19 in the eastern regions.

“Reserve Crimea” unites four state nature reserves — “Yalta Mountain-Forest”, the total length of tourist trails in which reaches 147 km, “Kazantipsky”, “Opuksky”, “Swan Islands” and three state natural reserves of federal significance “Karkinitsky”, “Small phyllophoric field” and “Kazantip sea”.
