Vital, but punishable. Where did the lie about a stolen mobile phone lead a Crimean woman?
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Leninsky District Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against a resident of the village of Krasnogorka. The Crimean woman was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (knowingly false denunciation of a crime).
The court found that the woman told the internal affairs officer false information about the theft of her mobile phone by her friends, in order to hide the true reasons for the loss of the phone from her relatives and to avoid conflict situations with them— said the prosecutor’s office.
The defendant fully admitted her guilt in committing the crime. When making the final decision, the court, taking into account the presence of a number of mitigating circumstances, sentenced the defendant to a fine. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
Moral: don’t lie, you won’t get into trouble.
