Vitaly Starovoitova from Simferopol for the second year in a row became the champion of Russia in mixed martial arts MMA. Competitions on May 30 – June 2 were held in Nizhny Novgorod at the North Star Sports Palace.
Pupil Pavel Stepanova became the strongest in the weight category up to 61.2 kg. It should be noted that almost 200 athletes from 22 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the championship. The Russian MMA Championship was a qualifier for the World Friendship Games 2024, which will be held in Moscow and Yekaterinburg from September 15 to 29. Vitaly Starovoitova will represent the Russian national team at them— reports «Crimean sport».
