According to him, the artists, like the city’s residents, are eagerly awaiting the opening of the cultural and educational cluster that is being built in Sevastopol on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian National Theatre Award «Golden Mask» was established by the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation in 1993 as a professional award for the best performances of Russian theatres, created in all types of theatrical art: drama, opera, ballet, operetta and musical, contemporary dance, puppet theatre.

The competition in 2024 was held in an innovative format. From February 11 to May 15, the jury watched the performances nominated for the award in the regions where they were created. V. Mashkov promised that the winning performances of the Golden Mask are planned to be brought to the regions in 2025.
