Then there was a festive meal with a large selection of various treats, because the Day of Salvation and Liberation is a holiday not only of prayers and gratitude. On this day, Jews are commanded to have fun and rejoice at the liberation and salvation of the Jewish people.
Dear friends!
I congratulate you on the holiday — the Day of Salvation and Liberation. 26 Iyar is one of the most important, significant dates in the centuries-old history of the Jewish people. It connects eras and generations, personifies the unfading memory of the Great Victory, the immortal feat of the soldiers and commanders of the Red Army who crushed Nazism and saved the Jewish and other peoples from the threat of annihilation.
I am sure that the widespread celebration of the Day of Salvation and Liberation enriches the historical, religious, cultural traditions of Russian Jews and promotes high spiritual, moral, patriotic ideals and values in society, especially among young people. Serves to consolidate efforts in opposing radical nationalism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism.
I wish you success in implementing your plans and all the best. Happy holiday!, — says the message of the President of the Russian Federation.
