Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law increasing the size of the fixed payment to the old-age and disability insurance pension in 2024. The document was published on Monday, November 27, at official portal legal information.
The law implies that from January 1, 2024, the cost of one pension coefficient increases from 129.5 rubles to 133.1 rubles, and the size of the fixed payment to the old-age insurance pension from 7,915.4 rubles to 8,134.9 rubles.
The law is designed to increase the level of pension provision for citizens at least below the inflation rate.
The federal law comes into force on the date of its official publicationsays the document.
Earlier, on October 27, member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Svetlana Bessarab reported that the State Duma discusses with the government the issue of indexation of pensions working pensioners. The deputy noted that there are now about 33 million unemployed pensioners in the country, and the authorities are trying to provide the main support to them.
On October 24, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill to increase pensions for non-working pensioners by 7.5%. The draft law provides for an increase in the average pension for recipients of an insurance pension to 22,605 rubles, and for those who receive an old-age pension — to 23,449 rubles.
