Vladislava Stepanenko from Simferopol is the winner of the main Artek award
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The 8th shift «Artek gathers friends» has ended at the International Children’s Center. On the farewell evening at the «Artek Arena» the children took a trip to the fairy-tale world of the «Bremen Town Musicians». The participants of the shift were more than three thousand children from all regions of Russia, as well as 60 foreign countries, including 591 schoolchildren from the Southern Federal District, including 309 children from the Republic of Crimea.
It was a unique, eventful shift filled with various events. In 21 days, all of you, boys and girls from different countries, became part of the big Artek family. We tried to tell and show you a lot. But the most important thing is that you learned unity. After all, it is in unity that our strength lies.— the press service quotes the director of the International Children’s Center, Konstantin Fedorenko.
On the Airborne Forces Day, the guest of honor of the event was Guards Lieutenant Colonel, Deputy Commander-Chief of the Airborne Service of the 56th Guards Airborne Assault Regiment, holder of the Order of Courage, participant of the Airborne Military District Alexey Novokhotko.
The real hero wished the Artek children all the best, to find true friends, and also thanked them for their words of support: «I want to thank you for your active civic position and support for the paratroopers in the area of the special military operation. Artek has repeatedly sent letters and gifts from you to the regiment for the paratrooper guards.»
The guys also greeted the famous war correspondent Alexander Sladkov with loud applause.
I am amazed by the scale of Artek. The scale of the territory, the order, the grooming, the discipline. I am amazed by the power that Artek represents. I am grateful to the adults who work here. You have invested part of your soul in our future, in the future of Russia. Guys, now you have a friendship that was born here. We in Russia are always glad to have guests. Together we strive for equality and justice. I wish you happiness, health and great success.“The guest of honor addressed the shift participants.
Participants of the international shift immersed themselves in the amazing story of the «Bremen Town Musicians». The cartoon was released in 1969, and in 1973 the whole country saw its sequel — «In the Footsteps of the Bremen Town Musicians». 40 years later, these cartoons are still loved by entire generations of adults and children, and the songs «Troubadour’s Serenade», «Stars of the Continents», «Song of Friends» and other compositions are familiar to everyone. Now the heroes of the famous «Bremen Town Musicians» «came to life» at the «Artek Arena». The children saw the Troubadour, the King, the Princess and other characters, and closely followed the development of the plot. Counselors, employees of various structural divisions, Artek residents of the 8th shift and even heads of children’s camps took part in the performance.
Favorite songs, bright lighting and music, beautiful dances and, of course, a happy ending to a kind fairy tale — all this gave the brightest emotions to the young spectators. Artek children closely followed the events and sincerely rejoiced for the main characters and their friends. At the end of the performance, more than 3,000 children from different countries performed the «Song of Friends».
According to tradition, the winners of the Artek Star competition were awarded at the ceremony. In the 8th shift of 2024, the following people received the public vocation badge: Valeria Karelina, Moscow (Kiparisny children’s camp); Vladislava Stepanenko, Simferopol (Lazurny children’s camp); Roman Masyutenko, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (Lesnoy children’s camp); Matvey Kochergin, Omsk (Morskoy children’s camp); Daria Kharitonova, Sevastopol (Ozerny children’s camp); Sofia Revenko, Lugansk (Polevoy children’s camp); Polina Znachkova, Moscow (Rechnoy children’s camp); Arina Bogdanova, Penza Oblast (Khrustalny children’s camp); Alexandra Tsygankova, Novosibirsk (Yantarny children’s camp).
Twelve-year-old Vladislava Stepanenko from Simferopol spent her shift at the Lazurny children’s camp.
This is my first time in Artek, I got here for my achievements in rhythmic gymnastics. I learned a lot during this shift: I became more disciplined, gained a lot of experience, being a squad captain I learned to perform in an unfamiliar environment. I was in a specialized dance squad, we won a cup in a specialized dance battle. At the «Star of Artek» competition I showed a gymnastics number with a ribbon. My personal qualities also helped me become the «Star of Artek»: determination, activity and hard work. I liked all the events of the shift, but especially the first crowd at the opening of the shift, the performance at KMAT, and our performance in the specialized dance battle. During the shift, Artek became a home for me, where it is fun and interesting, where my friends are waiting for me. I really hope that in a year I will come back here again. I wish those who only dream of getting to the Land of Childhood to fix this as soon as possible, because the time spent here will be remembered for the rest of your life— said the Artek girl.
The 8th shift in Artek was very interesting and eventful. The children are sure that they will remember it for the rest of their lives. The final of the All-Russian competition «Big Change» for students of grades 5-7 took place, its finalists were 700 schoolchildren from 68 regions of Russia, as well as schoolchildren from foreign countries, whose trip to Artek became possible thanks to the active participation of Rossotrudnichestvo.
The main events of the shift include the International Children’s Festival «Artek — the Capital of Friendship», the festival of national cultures «The Language of the World — the Language of Friendship», a concert with the participation of Denis Maidanov, theme days, an international chess tournament, the marine festival «Artek — the Waters of Friendship», and the campaign «To Remember — Means to Know».
One of the key events of the shift was the round table «Artek — the capital of children’s diplomacy», where the children discussed the achievements of Russian diplomacy, its history and modernity, held a dialogue of cultures as a basis for mutual understanding and cooperation, talked about cooperation between public organizations and movements of children and youth. The result of the round table was the Manifesto of Friendship adopted by the young Artek children.
At the end of the closing ceremony of the shift “Artek Gathers Friends”, the children said goodbye to the children’s center, and the boys gave the girls roses as a sign of friendship.
