Warn — do not warn, and remote scammers get «their money». Incident in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Over the past weekend, two residents of Sevastopol, wanting to purchase goods through online stores, suffered from intruders. Remote scammers did not get rich seriously, but they got «their penny».
In the first case, the 69-year-old motorist transferred almost four thousand rubles to the false seller as an advance payment for the DVR, and in the second — 31-year-old girl entered her bank card details on a fake website of a popular online platform and lost almost seven thousand rubles. The victims knew about the existence of such fraudulent schemes, but relied on the decency of strangers and became victims of criminals , the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol notes.
In connection with the above, the police of Sevastopol reminds citizens of the precautionary measures when making online purchases.
In order not to suffer from illegal activities, you should check the business reputation of a potential seller and make sure that it is reliable. In order not to lose your savings, it is better to refuse to make an advance payment, and pay for the goods only upon receipt. Too low price of the purchased goods, as well as the requirement to make a large prepayment, should alert the buyer.
If you have suffered from fraud or another crime, then you must immediately contact the nearest territorial unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol or report it by phone 102.
