Water reserves in Crimean reservoirs have decreased
CrimeaPRESS reports:
June was very hot and dry. Precipitation was purely local, falling mainly in the middle of the second ten-day period <…> The total water supply in reservoirs located in the beds of the main rivers by the beginning of July amounted to 157.85 million cubic meters, which is 18.79 million cubic meters less than a month ago, — the message says.
It is noted that a significant shortage of precipitation over the past three months has caused a sharp drop in water levels on all rivers. Only after the downpour on June 15, within the boundaries of Simferopol, due to slope runoff on the Maly Salgir River, a short-term increase in water levels by 77 cm was observed, and the maximum water flow increased to 4.59 cubic meters per second.
According to the State Committee for Water Management, there are 23 reservoirs with a total volume of 398.4 million cubic meters located on the territory of the republic: 15 natural runoff reservoirs with a total volume of 235.05 million cubic meters and eight filling reservoirs filled from the North Crimean Canal system with a total volume of 145.35 million cubic meters.
