«We firmly believe in the 2024 sports heroes»: talents from all over Russia are invited to participate in the award

The II All-Russian competition of art works dedicated to the achievements of legendary athletes «We firmly believe in sports heroes» is starting in Russia. It is held with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. One of its goals is to discover new talents and take a fresh look at great achievements.

The «We Believe Firmly in Sports Heroes» award was held in Russia for the first time in 2023 with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives and brought together not only famous artists and renowned athletes, but also ordinary Russians who love sports and honor our legendary champions. Its main goal is to draw attention to works of art in the field of sports victories.

This year, applications for the competition are accepted in five nominations: song, painting, poetry, art photography and sculpture. Each work should reveal a specific sports hero, his success, sports victory or set record. Applications for participation in the competition have already started and will last until September 1, 2024. They can be submitted on the official website project. Any authors and performers over 18 years of age can participate in it. A professional jury headed by Irina Viner will review the applications and select the winners of the award this fall. And the award ceremony for the winners will take place as part of a gala concert, which will take place in Moscow on October 15, 2024, at the Irina Viner Gymnastics Palace. All finalists will receive diplomas of competition participants, and Russian stars and athletes will present cups to the winners in a ceremonial setting.

Sports and music are inseparable. The thing is that sports are also music: athletics, football, boxing — all this is music. Rhythmic gymnastics, figure skating and other sports border on real art, because it is high skill. That is why we came up with a concert where famous champions go on stage with famous artists and musicians and perform magnificent numbers.

A large team of professionals is working on the large-scale gala concert «We Believe Firmly in Sports Heroes». Creativity of various genres, inspired by sports and dedicated to the heroes of Russian sports, will be integrated into the numbers using modern show technologies and will become a bright and expressive means through which important topics will be revealed: service to one’s country, the personality of the athlete and coach, sports character, the system of moral values, the importance of sports in the world. The show will feature legends of Soviet and Russian sports, as well as stars of the Russian stage.
